Penryn Sevens Becomes RFU Event

Penryn RFC has made a successful application for their annual Easter Sevens competition to become part of the RFU National Sevens circuit. It will be the only leg of the event in Cornwall.

Easter Sevens at Penryn has long been a tradition, but this year, things are set to get a whole lot more exciting!


Penryn RFC Sevens competition is now part of the RFU's Secure Trading 24/Sevens series, which is the RFU’s National sevens competition for adult players. It comprises of three stages of competition, commencing with a local qualifying stage (Local Qualifier, of which the Penryn event is one), regional qualifying stage (Regional Final), concluding in the Secure Trading 24/Sevens National Finals, which will take place at Bath RFC's iconic Recreation Ground on 21st July.


The winners of the Penryn event will go on to compete at a regional qualifying event along with other champions from the South-West region which also has events taking place at Hartpury, Yeovil, Lytchett Minster, Frome and the South-West and Westcountry events. The winner there will progress to Finals Day at Bath.

OPEN LEVEL -
Entry: £200 (includes two nights camping)
Prize Money: Winners: £950, Runners-Up: £450, Bowl Winners: £350, Bowl Runners Up: £200.

Prize Money: Winners: £300, Runners-Up: £175, Bowl Winners: £150, Bowl Runners Up: £100.
