England Deaf Rugby

Please see the attached information regarding an England Deaf Rugby fixture and a taster session to be held at Crediton on 21st February 2016.

Who can attend?

Anyone and everyone. England Deaf RFU welcomes boys, girls, men, women, Deaf and hearing people and members of local clubs to come along and enjoy the sport of rugby together.

What happens at the events?

Members of England Deaf Men and Women’s teams and coaches will be on hand to introduce you to the sport of rugby. If you are already a player they will help improve your skills and if you are good enough you may be selected to play for England Deaf!

The events also give sports providers the chance to learn how to support Deaf players in their own clubs.

Adult Player Development - UPDATE

The Cornwall Rugby Football Union is working hard to respond to the needs of its clubs and members and to that end earlier this year an online survey was sent out to all players in Cornwall asking them to identify certain areas that they would like to see improved. Highlighted by the players in this survey was the need for continued Player Training Development opportunities (as currently exists at the youth level).

To respond to this request the Player Development committees have combined to use their resources to offer to ALL SENIOR players (both male and female) in the county three specialist training days.

These days will be to enable players to enhance their own skills sets for personal development which in turn will enhance their playing experience back at their clubs.

15th February (Monday) - Newquay Sports Centre

13th April (Wednesday) - Truro College

19.00 - 21.00

These sessions will be FREE to attend.

However you will need to notify DAVID BANKS (Chair Player Development Committee, Seniors) of your attendance so we can arrange for the correct number of coaches and for sandwiches afterwards.

You can do this by texting your name, club
and playing position to

President John Grindle

It is with great sadness that I have to inform the Cornwall rugby family that our President, John Grindle, passed away this afternoon. John will be sadly missed by all involved in rugby in Cornwall.

John was very proud to be the President of the CRFU; no more so then when the Cornwall team lifted the County Championship Trophy last May.

The CRFU sends its sincere condolences to Joyce and the Family.

Rest in Peace John.

Denis Preece, Chairman CRFU

Good Luck "One & All"

Saturday 5th September sees the start of the 2015-16 league campaign for all Cornish Clubs except those in Cornwall 1 & 2 whose league season starts in October.

We would like to wish all our member clubs every success for the forthcoming season.

Don't forget that once the hard graft of the league is over we can all look forward to supporting Cornwall defend the county championship title in May.

Job Vacancy - Honorary Handbook Editor

The CRFU requires a volunteer to compile and edit the CRFU Handbook.

The Handbook Editor will compile all information for the CRFU Handbook, this will include being a point of contact for all Cornish clubs.  The successful candidate needs to be both computer literate and familiar with desktop publishing software.
