Club Accreditation

  • Published in News

SAVE THE DATE – Wednesday 10th January 2018, Redruth RFC at 7.30 p.m.

If your club is intending to apply for RFU or CRFU funding in the future it is extremely important to be represented at this meeting.

RFU Club Accreditation will soon become a pre-requisite of any grant or loan application. It replaces previous schemes (such as the Seal of Approval) and is much simpler to complete. It is a WHOLE CLUB exercise and the process itself has proved very useful to those clubs which have completed it.

We plan to have representatives of accredited clubs present to explain the process so that clubs who have yet to engage with the scheme can find out more about it. It will also be helpful in supporting clubs who have started but not yet completed the exercise.

Make 2018 the year YOUR club gains RFU Accreditation.

Cornish Clubs Fixtures for Saturday 16th/Sunday 17th December 2017

The last full weekend programme of 2017 sees The Pirates in action in Round Four of the British & Irish Cup with three teams tied on nine points in Pool Five.

Redruth will be optimistic as they travel to Coventry to meet struggling Broadstreet whilst Camborne will be keen to ease their relegation worries by completing the double in the cross-Tamar derby with Brixham.

In Tribute South West One fifth placed Launceston entertain sixth placed Thornbury whilst in London’s sister league London Cornish host CS Rugby 1963. Western Counties West leaders St Ives make the short journey to Wadebridge Camels whilst St Austell will hope to keep the pressure up when they entertain Paignton. Falmouth need a home win to start the climb out of the relegation zone.

Saltash, pace-setters in the Tribute Cornwall & Devon League, cross the river to play Plymouth Argaum while third placed Penryn host Torrington. Struggling Hayle host fifth placed Bude. The last two fixtures in the Tribute Cornwall League are for pride only as Liskeard-Looe have already secured top slot and the split into Tribute Cornwall One and Two has already been settled.

Cornish Clubs Results for Saturday 9th December 2017

The Pirates go down in Port Talbot on Monday evening.

In National Two South Redruth bounced back to winning ways with a seven try thrashing of new boys Tonbridge Juddians for whom ex Bude and Cornwall player Duncan Tout played in the centre.

Saturday marked the half-way mark in the leagues below Level Four with an injury ravaged Camborne grabbing their first ever win at Weston Hornets to ease the relegation worries. Launceston gave the league leaders a fright in South West One West but lost by a single point to Exeter University. At the same level London Cornish shared 68 points with Tottonians in a thrilling encounter.

In the Tribute Western Counties West League St Ives produced an outstanding win over Devonport Services to take the top slot whilst St Austell’s win puts them in second place. Falmouth go into the second half of the season in a precarious position and will be hoping for a change of fortunes to climb out of the relegation zone.

Saltash are the new leaders of the Tribute Devon & Cornwall League at half-term after putting 30 points past Penryn who slip to third whilst Hayle fill one of the relegation slots.

With most clubs having played their final game before the Tribute Cornwall League splits into Cornwall One and Two Liskeard-Looe take the top slot as Bodmin are beaten at Veor.
