A Great Day at Helston

What can I say other than a full clubhouse is a happy clubhouse. Fifty women and girls descended upon Helston RFC clubhouse on Sunday 13th August and played some very fine touch rugby. This was followed by cheering on the Red Roses as they stormed to their second victory in the Women’s Rugby World Cup.

Another side of the day was to thank the sponsors of the Cornish Maids. This team is made up of girls from Camborne, Helston, Penryn, Penzance and St Austell across all three girls age groups (Under 13, Under 15 and Under 18). This has been a successful venture which continues to go from strength to strength.

A big thank you to the CRFU for their continued support. It was great to see the CRFU Chair, Denis Preece, in attendance with his rugby playing granddaughter on holiday from Hertfordshire. We were also pleased to welcome a woman on holiday from the midlands who came to join the fun.
