Cornish Clubs Opening Weekend Results

Mixed fortunes for the county’s senior sides as the opening weekend saw good wins for the Pirates and Reds and an early setback for Camborne.

Both the Mining Division’s senior sides played away from home on artificial pitches. Redruth at Dings Crusaders superb new home overcame a first half deficit to take the spoils whilst the Cherry and Whites went down narrowly as hosts Ivybridge celebrated the opening of their new AGP.

Launceston opened their season with a good win in Gloucestershire and newly promoted St Ives impressed against Cullompton. Falmouth took the bragging rights in the Western Counties West derby against Truro whilst Cornish clubs did not fare well in the Devon & Cornwall League with only Bude managing a win and new boys Liskeard-Looe a draw.

Everyone else was in cup action.
